Function of the Grinding Disc in a Pulverizer
The Grinding Disc is the main rotating component inside the grinding chamber of a pulverizer. Hammer tips are mounted along the edge of the disc, and it plays a crucial role in generating impact force and centrifugal force to break down materials at high speed.
When the grinding disc rotates, the hammer tips attached to its perimeter create strong impact forces, causing the material to be crushed and thrown outward, where it strikes directly against the surrounding toothed ring (Pulverizer Liner) at high velocity.
There is a very small clearance between the hammer tips and the toothed ring (Pulverizer Liner). Material entering this narrow gap is repeatedly impacted and ground, ensuring a thorough grinding process and achieving high fineness.
As the central component in the high-speed impact and aerodynamic grinding mechanism, the Grinding Disc directly determines grinding efficiency, finished product fineness, and the overall operational stability of the pulverizer.

Grinding Disc Machining at Tien Phat Mechanical
Machining the Grinding Disc is a critical technical process within the grinding chamber of a pulverizer. The Grinding Disc serves as the main rotating component, carrying the hammer tips and directly generating impact force and centrifugal force to break down materials at high speed. During operation, the Grinding Disc works continuously under heavy loads, high friction, and intense impact, requiring outstanding mechanical strength, stability, and wear resistance. With practical experience in livestock and aquaculture feed processing machinery, Tien Phat Mechanical selects high-quality alloy steel materials suitable for heavy-duty and continuous plant operation conditions.
The Grinding Disc at Tien Phat Mechanical is precisely machined using modern CNC systems, ensuring compliance with design drawings, high concentricity, proper dynamic balancing, and accurate assembly with the main shaft. Hammer mounting surfaces and load-bearing areas are finished to a high standard, enabling stable hammer operation, minimizing vibration, and optimizing grinding efficiency.
The product undergoes a strictly controlled heat treatment process to enhance mechanical properties such as hardness, impact toughness, and wear resistance, thereby extending service life and reducing replacement frequency.
In addition, a rigorous quality control system is applied throughout the entire production process, from raw material inspection, overall dimension checks, flatness, radial runout measurement, to hardness testing and other key technical parameters using specialized measuring equipment. As a result, every Grinding Disc delivered meets stringent technical requirements, ensures stable grinding performance, consistent product fineness, and helps optimize operating costs for the plant.
